A Beginners’ Guide
“Mental health issues and a late
neurodiversity diagnosis delayed my
education journey, so to kick start my
learning again I did a couple of courses
with York Learning to help me to rebuild
my con昀椀dence. I decided to do a short
photography course, and it was a total
game-changer. My tutor was amazing. She
really understood me and how my brain
worked. Learning in a smaller adult class
was exactly what I needed and gave me
the con昀椀dence and the passion to take
this further, and now I’ve been accepted
at university for a photography degree...
roll on September! I don’t think I would
have felt ready to move forward had it
not been for the initial support from
York Learning and Carys.”
